The State Administration for Market Regulation has announced that U.S. companies conducting follow-up factory inspections for CCC certification can no longer provide these certifications, which are meant to ensure electronic products meet a basic safety standard. This new rule will oblige U.S. electronics manufacturers to hire auditors based outside the U.S. or rely on non-U.S. designated bodies for certifications. The U.S. FCC's ban on Chinese drone imports, which was later revised to allow for some models, and the recent bans on imports of foreign-made humanoid robots and power inverters, citing national security risks, have further strained relations. These measures have raised concerns about the impact on national security of imported printing software and office equipment, although specific companies have not been named.
